Twelfth Christmas CAD utilities given out by CAD Studio

Christmas is coming in a couple of days and so CAD Studio gives out again a wrapped package of free useful tools for all CAD users. Do not overlook also hundreds of other CAD applications and CAD/BIM libraries offered for free on our portal CADforum.cz.

As a part of this tradition, this year's Christmas-tree utilities by CAD Studio include:

• DimCurve - a useful AutoCAD add-on enhancing your toolset with a missing functionality: dimensioning lengths of any 2D or 3D curves, including polylines, splines or 3D helixes. You can use this add-on also to dimension the distance (on the curve) of any two picked curve points.

• TraceCurve - a releated add-on application, also working with lenghts measured on a curve, but from the opposite point of view - it marks (traces) points on the curve in the specified distance (stationing) from the picked start-point. The created point objects may be placed in regular intervals or in individually specified incremental distances from the last point.

  

• UnitsConversion - creates an AutoCAD custom palette containing a converter for hundreds of common and less-common international and historical physical units - length, area, volume, temperature, speed, force, power, flux, moment etc.

  

• LogBook - a preview version of the LogBook add-on tool creates a detailed LOG file with a protocol of all changes performed in a DWG drawing. Each new or modified entity is automatically logged in a .LOG or .CSV file located in the same folder as the drawing.
• FLay - our older reactor for automatic layer switching is now much simpler to install and use thanks to including it in the Autodesk Exchange Apps. FLay can be now installed and controlled directly from the AutoCAD ribbon - your drawing texts will be automatically placed to the layer TEXTS, hatches to the layer HATCHES, images to the layer IMAGES, etc.
