AutoCAD Plant 3D 2013 Extension 1 supports Vault

Users of the Autodesk's plant and piping CAD application - AutoCAD Plant 3D 2013 with an active subscription can now download an extended version of their software - "AutoCAD Plant 3D 2013 Extension 1".

Plant 3D Extension 1 adds support for the document management PDM system Autodesk Vault, specifically its versions Vault Workgroup 2013, Vault Collaboration 2013 and Vault Professional 2013. The collaboration and data management functions are directly integrated with the Project Manager in AutoCAD Plant 3D. Or you can use the extended ribbon in the application's UI.

After you create a plant project in the central vault, you can use the following network functions:

• Local workspace - working files do not need to be shared via a common network folder - you can edit your project files locally and synchronize them with the central Vault repository.
• Document management with check-in/out - Project Manageru is integrated with Autodesk Vault. Project Manager prompts you to check-out any file you work on.
• Automatic file versioning - you can access and restore older versions of your project files.
• Master project database - Vault projects use SQL Server as a project database. The master database is always synchronized so that it matches the checked-in files.
• User authentication and access control - the administrator can manage access rights to the individual projects in the Vault using the Autodesk Data Management Console. You can easily create user accounts and assign them roles for each project vault.
